I don’t know who these people are, but they are currently my most favoritest people in the world. Possibly forever.

Crime: Very Pregnant Woman Survives Being Kidnapped, Set on Fire, and Shot(via @Gawker)

Early Saturday, a pregnant 22-year-old woman in Detroit was kidnapped, set on fire, and shot. Miraculously, she’s expected to make a full recovery —

Every. Single. Day.

Every. Single. Day.

So, I read this yesterday.

I was very surprised. Normally, I avoid anything with Stephen King’s name on it. I’m not a fan, which many people seem to find astounding considering I share my name with one of his more famous characters. But, I made an exception because lots of people keep recommending it to me; also, I’m one of those terrible people who judge books by their covers and I LOVE this books cover. Anyway, this will be the first time in my life that Stephen King has ever been on my bookshelf.

I’m going to make my own reboot of Sherlock Holmes: SHERHAWK HOLMES AND HULKSON: HULK SMASH PUNY CLUE.
They would just wander around and get confused at things and smash/blow stuff up, unless the clue is a door, and Hawkeye will have a brilliant revelation about doors opening from both sides. Black Widow will be Lestrade and she’ll just go ahead and solve the mystery for them and then make them think they did they did it so that they feel proud of themselves.

I would seriously watch that. No joke.

THIS! All of it. Except the bottom chart is a bit off. Put Loki in place of Thor and put Thor in place of Iron Man, and Iron Man in place of Captain America, Hulk, and Hawkeye.

“I have been shot at, stabbed, and seen my own arm torn from my body upon the hostile battlefields of India and Afghanistan, and yet none of those terrors compare in my estimation with that of driving through London with Holmes at the helm.”

Steampunk Holmes is a mashup of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes, characters, and stories from other 19th century works set in an alternative Steampunk universe.  In the Steampunk Holmes Universe, a new, more compact and powerful steam engine has been invented, which powers everything from motorcycles to airships; computers, called Babbage Engines, are pervasive and critical to the information architecture of Victorian England; and the telegraph has evolved into a world wide network connecting Babbage Engines and people.

The series starts in the year 1885, when Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson are called in by Sherlock’s sister, Mycroft Holmes, to help find the stolen plans of a very advanced submarine, the Nautilus, recovered from the watery grave of the most notorious terrorist of the British Empire, Captain Nemo.   Who stole the plans and what will they do with them? This is a job for the world’s greatest Amateur Detective and his trusty bionic sidekick.

Babes Jenn, Lyndsay, and Amy have a chat with three of the people behind the Steampunk Holmes project.  Producer Richard Monson-Haefel, author P.C. Martin, and artist Daniel Cortes talk about how the idea of mashing Sherlock Holmes and steampunk together came to life.  Holmes rides a steampunk motorcycle with sidecar! Watson has a bionic arm! Mycroft is a female! How cool is that?!?

The Steampunk Holmes project is authorized by the Arthur Conan Doyle Estate and is a labor of love for these three.  Currently, they are in need of your help.  Steampunk Holmes has launched a Kickstarter Campaign to help raise funds to complete their interative iPad application of Steampunk Holmes: Legacy of the Nautilus.  Everyone who donates gets some amazing gifts for helping.  You can donate here.

As a special thank you to our listeners, the Steampunk Holmes creators are offering a FREE download of the e-pub version of Steampunk Holmes: Legacy of the Nautilus.  To claim the free download, go to Smashwords, choose your preferred format of the e-book, and enter the code UN78D when you check out.  It’s as simple as that!

Trust us.  You won’t be disappointed.

Disney Princesses... If They Were in Final Fantasy X-2

Final Fantasy X-2 introduced a new wrinkle into the famous RPG series: instead of being handed a selection of characters with set classes to choose a three person fighting team with, players were handed exactly three characters (Rikku, Yuna, and Paine) and could choose which class roles they wanted those characters to play at any moment, simply by changing their outfits. It was also the first FF game to feature an all female main cast.

And what with the fanart trend of giving reinterpreting Disney princesses, and the existing presence of the official Final Fantasy/Disney crossover games Kingdom Hearts, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that xsKiRtZx’s drawings of Disney princesses and other lead female characters as Final Fantasy X-2 classes are a pretty cool combination.

Anonymous asked: Did you make that Cicero costume and is there any way that someone could commission one?

Nope. I did not make the costume. I just stumbled upon it while looking through Deviant Art one day. The picture should be linked to the guy’s account. You should probably go there and ask him. :)
